In one of the latest transfer window signings in Scotland's history, Cameron Carter-Vickers was announced by Celtic with four minutes to spare of deadline day.
Here's how it all unfolded:
Celtic were linked with Carter-Vickers earlier in the window as the club were investigating a number of options to bolster a defence in much need of a commanding figure:
Just over a week later with no progress on the speculation, it seemed that Carter-Vickers would stay in England, with The Magpies now in pole position to sign him:
Half way through the month however it appears that Championship side, Bournemouth, were closest to completing a deal for his signature:
But both Celtic and Newcastle were waiting in the wings if talks with the man that Mauricio Pochettino once said had the potential to be 'the best defender in England' and The Cherries broke down:
Deadline day was here and Carter-Vickers had still not been announced anywhere but it's Newcastle who now appear favourites for his signature yet again as the EPL window closes:
31 Aug - 23:07
Then what seemed like out of nowhere, Sky Sports Scotland breaks the news that talks were being held between Celtic and the USA international. The EPL window has closes and there's less than an hour until the Scottish window shuts:
As the clock approached midnight Celtic fans held their breath until two tweets in quick succession by Celtic FC official twitter sent us all to bed happy:
*Note that tweet times are in the local time of Sydney, Australia.
